Holy Family Parish Campaign Summer Recess

June 25, 2008
The current financial campaign to build a new facility is taking a break for July and August. The campaign cabinet has worked hard with bi-weekly meetings and organizing canvassers to meet with parishioners. In approximately 10 weeks of canvassing, the parish has generated in excess of $600,000 in cash and pledges.

Understandably, reaching all parishioners prior by the end of June was a daunting task. With migration to cottages and vacations during the summer months the campaign cabinet decided to take a summer break. We will re-convene in September for a concentrated period to complete our canvassing and wrap up remaining campaign business.

Over the summer months, if you wish to make a campaign contribution, you may leave it in the collection basket or mail to:

All contributions are income tax deductible, so please include your return address with your offering.

Holy Family Parish expresses its appreciation to the Campaign Cabinet, our canvassers and parishioners who supported our campaign to date. With prayer, faith in God’s goodness and the continued work of those planning our project we will meet the goal of a new parish church and center very soon.

Campaign Continues To Grow

June 22, 2008
Our thermometer continues to rise and we currently have $620,000 in gifts and pledges. Even in this busy month of June those involved in the Campaign are still working very hard to achieve our goal while planning a break in July and August.

Anyone wanting to make a contribution to the campaign may still do so by either placing your donation in the collection or dropping it off at the Parish Office during business hours.

There will not be a break in our praying for the success of the Campaign!

A letter has been sent to all parishioners this week to update you on campaign matters.

Campaign Prepares For Summer Break

June 7, 2008
Last weekend, Vince Byrne spoke at all the Lord’s Day celebrations of the Eucharist giving an update of our Financial Campaign. At that time he complimented those who have given so generously so that our Campaign sits at $570,000.00. He thanked our faithful Campaign Cabinet and canvassers and clarified some concerns that have been brought to the attention of the Committee. Before the end of the month, a written copy of this information will be mailed to all parishioners. All those actively involved in the Campaign will take a well-earned holiday in July and August and return for a final effort in September.

Holy Family Parish Campaign Launched!

April 13,2008
As we have seen in picture and story as well as an editorial in the Amherst News, we had a very exciting official launching of our Financial Campaign.

The celebration began in a liturgical setting at the 11:15 celebration of Eucharist and then moved to the public launching in our Parish Hall. Along with the unveiling of the Campaign thermometer there was also displayed a tentative model of the new complex.

We have some hard work ahead of us in the next several weeks, but the enthusiasm of the Cabinet and canvassers we know will be blessed by the Lord.

At all our Masses last Sunday the new Campaign Banner was carried in procession and displayed in the sanctuary. This is now prominently hanging from the choir loft. This beautiful piece of work is the creation of Mrs. Cathy Quesnel.

Canvassing for the General Division will begin in a few weeks. Any parishioner willing to assist us with this effort, please contact the Parish Office at 667-2523.

Campaign Goal Categories Revised

At Monday's cabinet meeting, some adjustments were made to the goals of the various divisions of the campaign. The notable change from our earlier news posting about our campaign goal categories is the addition of our Family Gift category.

The "Family Gift" includes parishioners on Pastoral Councils, Parish Organizations and Committees, Pastoral Staff who are approached for contributions to the campaign within this category.
Individual Family Gift contributions will fall into Lead, Major, Special or General levels but the Parish Family is canvassed separately. Parishioners in the Family Gift category are not canvassed for a contribution within another category.

Campaign Receives a Boost!

The Holy Family Parish Major Fundraising Campaign White Donationreceived a boost recently with a substantial donation from Dr. Brian Ferguson, his wife and Campaign Co-Chair, Dr. Celina White and their family. "We are confident that our goal will be reached in the near future", says Dr. White. "There is an abundance of support being realized, both from the large number of people who have agreed to serve on the Capital Committee, and from the donations which have already been pledged. I can feel an air of optimism within the committee, and indeed, within the parish as we embark on this new chapter."
Dr. White is shown here presenting a cheque to Todd LeBlanc, Campaign Treasurer.

Cabinet Committee Working Diligently on Campaign

A number of parishioners have agreed to volunteer countless hours of their own time as members of the Capital Campaign Committee. This group has been holding meetings over the past months to prepare the campaign launch so it proceeds in a well-organized manner.

The Capital Campaign committee is as follows:

No member of this group is being paid. Rather, each person is supporting the campaign with Time, Talent and Treasure.
As well, Mary Lynne Chapman has been hired as Campaign Co-ordinator and Secretary to assist with the many clerical duties required by the campaign.

All Fund Raised Go To Holy Family Parish

All funds raised will go to the Holy Family Parish Capital Compaign. At no point will any donation go anywhere but towards the Capital Campaign. All money raised will be used to construct our new Church.

The question has been asked: Why should Rome not pay for a new church? Roman Catholic church policy dictates that each parish is responsible for building and maintaining its own structure.
