~COULD WE HAVE ASKED FOR MORE!~
As a people of Church, this Parish could not have been more blessed last weekend. To close one church and to dedicate another all on the one day is an experience that most probably will never be repeated. What a privilege for all of us. All of this could not have happened without the effort of many of our parishioners over several years and, more demanding, in the past few days and weeks before last weekend. Truly for us the word theme “See I am Making All Things New” on our new parish hall entrance sums up for us the feeling of a special grace we have received. Blessings on everyone and thanks to all. What can the Lord possibly have in store for us in the future??
~CLOSING LITURGY FOR YEAR OF THE PRIESTS~
For the past year, over the whole world, there have been different events celebrating what was named “The Year of the Priest”. In our own Diocese it began at a special celebration last year on August 4th at St. John Vianney Church in Lower Sackville. The priests of the Diocese will gather there again this Thursday night to draw to a close the celebrations in our Diocese. This gathering is announced on the Diocesan side of the bulletin today. Throughout the year, an icon of the Christ was honored and displayed in all the parishes and in our own early last fall. The occasion of these events hopefully will have us to pray for our priests but also to pray that we might have some young men from the Parish pray and consider this as their vocation.
~PARISH QUILT RAFFLE~
You are reminded to return your raffle tickets (in the collection or bring them to the Office). We thank the many families who have already returned their sold tickets. We have begun selling tickets on our beautiful quilt at various locations around town. Anyone interested in helping us to sell tickets is asked to call Judy at 667-1620.
~PARISH OFFICE CLOSED~
We ask you to note that the Parish office will be closed on August 2nd to observe the holiday.
~UPCOMING CEMETERY MASS
The Saint Charles – Nativity Cemetery Committee invites you to the Annual Cemetery Mass on Tuesday, August 17th at 6:30pm. You are encouraged to bring some portable chairs with you, as seating is limited. If there is rain that evening the Mass will be celebrated at the Church. A collection for cemetery maintenance will be taken up at this Mass and envelopes are attached to the bulletin for your use. You are reminded to make your cheque payable to Saint Charles – Nativity Cemetery.

~RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION~
The Rite of Christian Initiation is the process that invites adult inquirers to come to know our Catholic faith and tradition. Weekly gatherings begin late September – early October and continue until Easter. Participants gather with a team who share faith experiences and lead participants in finding out the meaning of being a Roman Catholic. Participation in the RCIA program does not obligate an inquirer to join the Church. It is a discernment process that asks for your full commitment and participation with the team. If you ever wondered about our faith and would like to know more about the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, please contact Sister Teresa Currie 667-5611 or Deacon Howard Gotell 667-2523.
~STEUBENVILLE ATLANTIC 2010~
This weekend 11 parishioners from the Parish are attending the annual Steubenville youth gathering at St. FX University in Antigonish. The gathering is a celebration of faith with powerful talks, liturgies, music and fun. Many of the Atlantic bishops will be present to accompany some 700 young people at the gathering. Sasha Baldwin, Joshua Beal, Allison Borden, Caleb Hayes, Colleen & Thomas Keagan, Gillian & Willie Moore, Geoff Baldwin, Maria Boudreau and Deacon Howard are attending. Please pray that the event will be a faith filled experience for those attending.

~PARISH LEGACY FUND ~
To date over 160 people have donated to the Parish Legacy Fund. For a donation of $109.00 a small engraved plaque will be placed on the back of the kneeler portion of the new chairs. Monies raised from this project will be used towards the cost of the new kneeler/chairs. This is a wonderful way to remember loved ones. If you are interested in purchasing a commemorative plaque toward the cost of the new chairs, please contact Maria at the Church Office.
