“Stewardship & the Eucharist”
A workshop entitled “Stewardship & the Eucharist” featuring Sharon Hueckel, author of a Scripture Study called “Disciple as Steward”, is being presented in Halifax on May 7th and 8th in Dartmouth.
We have used her material at some of our parish meetings during the past few months. She is also familiar with “Living Your Strengths” and will build this approach into some of her talks.
The workshop location is St.Peter's School located behind St Peter's Church, at 10 Maple Street, Dartmouth.
Interested? If so, please contact Deacon Howard at 667-2523 on or before April 30, 2010.

~Living Our Strengths~
On November 6th & 7th 2009 a Stewardship workshop was held at Elizabeth Seton Parish in Halifax. Three members from our Stewardship Council attended and heard presentations from the faith based division of Gallup International.
Their presentation entitled Living Your Strengths and Building an Engaged Church presented a real framework for parish renewal.
Living Your Strengths is inviting people to take an online test to discover your 5 strengths that are unique and a gift from God to you personally. Statistically the following statements apply to the God given strengths given to you personally:
Gallup Research Strength Statistics
- For anyone to have the same top 5 strengths in any order
1 in 275,000 - For anyone to have the same top 5 strengths in the same order
1 in 33,000,000 -
For anyone to have the same top 6 strengths in any order
1 in a billion -
For anyone to have your same top 7 strengths
Not enough people born from the beginning of time through the next 100 years
The purpose of the above statistics reveals your uniqueness as an individual. Your Creator has placed you in this place and time to share your strengths with the faith community. This is accomplished through your gifts of Time Talent & Treasure.
Living Your Strengths assists people in actively engaging in the pastoral work of the community in a way that builds an engaged Church.
The presentations were truly exciting and the Stewardship Council is exploring the process of Living Your Strengths and Building an Engaged Church seriously. You will be hearing more about this process in 2010.
A Stewardship Prayer
Loving Father, you are the source of every good gift found in the universe and in every human being.
We also realize that you bond your people into families and communities to love, care and serve one another as taught by your Son, Jesus Christ.
During our time together and when we return home, may your Spirit help us realize that gifts of Time Talent and Treasure help to strengthen and spread the Good News of your Kingdom here in our Church and throughout the world.
May we imitate your Son’s life of service and may we always be faithful stewards of all your gifts among the People Of God.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.
Amen.
